Jack, thank you for stopping by!
Where did you meet Myra and how long have you been married?
Myra and I met while we were both working for the telephone company in McAllen, Texas. We have been married 40 years. We have two married daughters and six grandchildren.
Who lives at home with you (children, pets, other)?
The two of us, plus two dogs.
At the time we dated and married, Myra was working elsewhere and was not into writing as a vocation. She first got serious about writing in 1983 and sold her first short story in 1985.
What is your occupation and how long have you been working at that vocation?
Retired from AT&T in 2002 (30 years ) and continued in telecommunications for another 10 years (total of 40). For the past year I have been substitute teaching at a Christian school in between working on projects around the house.
What are a few of your favorite books and authors? (Not including your wife's.)
The Shack, The River, anything by Clive Cussler, W.E. B Griffin, and Dale Brown.
Have you ever read any of your wife's books? If so, do you have a favorite?
I have read them all. I really enjoy the Historical Romance category and the research involved. My favorite is When The Clouds Roll By, the first of the Till We Meet Again Series to be published by Abingdon Press. Book one is scheduled for release October 2013.
Where does Myra write?
In her office upstairs.
What does she wear when writing?
Shorts, sweats, most anything very casual.
Is there anything unusual that she ever asks you to do relating to her writing?
Probably not unusual, but I go to most book signings, etc., along with getting into the historical research.
What activities do the two of you enjoy doing together as a couple?
Church choir, church handbell choir, going to movies, eating out
Now, from Myra:
Does your husband write? If so, please tells us about it.
LOL! My husband “writes” email to his countless cousins and fraternity alumni.
As an author, what is something exceptional that you appreciate about your husband relating to his support of your career.
Thank you Jack & Myra for joining us at WTD!
